Seamus began taking fiddle lessons at 5 yrs old at the Blue Ridge Pickin' Parlor with Frank Javorcik in Woodland Hills California. The Blue Ridge Picking Parlor (that eventually closed) had produced a long list of heavy hitters in the west coast Bluegrass scene along with Mcabes Guitar Shop in Santa Monica which is still going strong. Seamus began taking mandolin lessons at age 9 and finally took up guitar at age 12. The summer of his freshman year at college he entered and won the Southern California “One's to Watch” contest, leading to a recording deal of his original songs at the time. While attending Chico State in Northern California, he played in bands working on his writing, vocal and guitar skills. Upon graduating ,his band “Pacific Range” was quickly signed to an Indie Label after the band self produced and recorded their album “High Upon the Mountain.”
Ready to begin a west coast tour in 2020 Covid shelved that and the band, as all members of the band had moved on. Seamus continues to write and has relocated to Central Florida where he is currently playing with members of The "Seamus Turner and the 48's" planning to release a new album early 2025. Look for the ST/48's on the festival tour in the near future.
